what a week!

Thursday HOT over 40 degrees in the shade in a crazy rush to get the house finished and move in before Christmas....so what did i do? stood on a chair to reach something, the chair gave way and i fell flat on my back, winded myself and bruised my ribs.....STREUTH!! ....no sleep at all, too much pain...GREAT NOT!!
Friday HOTTER!! 1pm snake found in the old house, so lucky the man was home, i only have to think of a snake and i dry wretch, so i wont be posting photos of the 6ft brownie....UGH!  1.05pm snake dead, 1.06 pm...decision made to EVACUATE the hippy farm and start moving furniture over to the mansion.  Pain and heat tolerance level is at zero. All i can do is watch the furniture being brought over to the mansion and make a pathetic effort to dust and tidy up..... my contribution today, well nil really.
Saturday HOT as sleep? impossible too hot and too sore
Sunday HOT again! dont really remember much else the days all seemed to merge lol
Cool change Monday what a relief!'Christmas day was wonderful spent with friends and pain starting to recede.......the new digs are fantastic all clean and dust free, after living in the old house, with things half packed, spiders and bugs its good to have some normality back...i feel like ive won the lotto.  Pics to come as soon as i find my camera. Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas

pc kaput lol

pc doesnt want to work with me either today!!

One of those days!!

Ever had one of those days when you have soooooooooooo much to do that you dont know where to start and procrastination is the word of the day. Well today is my day for that....housework at the hippy farm is to be a no go today, its too beautiful a day to be stuck inside.... painting? tiling?... the mansion is not going to be a priority today either...i di
d plenty of that yesterday. So i find myself going through my knitting patterns..even though summer is poking its head through and i really dont need anymore jumpers or cardis! Messy in the head, messy in the house. But then I remembered something my Dad told me to think of whenever I'm overwhelmed. He asked me "how do you eat an elephant"....when i quizzed him he said "bite by bite" So today I'm going to nibble my way through things slowly, and if things dont get done there is always tomorrow because that elephant isnt going anywhere fast. Enjoy your day everyone!!!

tiling

Not sure why i cant get text with my pics but heres what ive been up to, the tiling went fairly smoothly, until i had to cut a few pieces. I used the grinder and of the six tiles i cut only one was the right size....so will have to phone a friend to help......power tools scare me. Then I decided to have some fun by mosaicing the side sections, no power tools needed, just a hammer, i love it.

another busy weekend

Serendipity part 2 ...thanks blogger

Just so happens this perfect piece of brocade fell into my lap on the weekend, a friend was culling her fabric stash...so this is my job for tomorrow...wish me luck!

Serendipity

I found this old girl at a garage sale and picked her up for next to nicks...the armchair still had the original cover on and the foam in the cushion had turned to sand almost.  So I cut a piece of foam from an old couch to replace it.  Next task recovering this pretty thing.

The digs have arrived

Well the containers were delivered 19hours late and things just got worse and worse lol.
Number one truck got bogged 20m from the footings...Great start.
                                        No: 1 truck  Bogged
No 1 truck being towed out by no 2 truck
after unloading no.1 container in the front paddock and yeh it gets worse!

no.2container unloaded in the side paddock after being transferred to no.1 truck BECAUSE no.2 truck didnt have a winch on it! oh boy!  This little episode took 4 hours, truckies arrived at 8.30, their boss is NOT happy.

The frames on the sides are for flooring  and have to be ground off

Bobs fork lift was bogged in this photo, in fact Bobs fork managed to get bogged 3 times! The fellas went down the road to borrow a tractor!

Bob being towed!

DAY TWO get in the big guns!! A crane and an excavator to tow the crane if it gets bogged.
And of course it got bogged!! lol heres the excavator piggy backing the container  and crane lol. I'm gonna cut this short now because its making me tired just thinking about it all so heres the result of day 2.
Success!! containers and frames in place. Now ALL we have to do is weld, build the living area in the centre and UGH! to be continued.......

hooked

Our house will be delivered in the next few weeks, as if i didnt have enough to do, I'm hooked on a new craft mosaic. I bought the table for $5 and the tiles from the tip shop, its fun but messy!
Two pot stands and a wooden jewellery box with colored beads,
The never ending story rag rug, the hessian cost $4 and I used about 15, $1 teeshirts from the oppy, so Ive worked on it for 2 hours each night for the past 6 weeks, lucky I have plenty of patience.

Almost done in time for the new digs. YAY
