I live in Geelong, I have an awesome partner who 'would slay a bull for me', he tolerates my crazy moods and loves to op shop with me...bonus!!
I have two adult sons, one adult daughter, one adult step daughter and four gorgeous grandsons.
I live to sew my machine is constantly being used,,, if I do not sew for at least one hour a day I get withdrawals!!
From purple cushion cover and sarong, to sling bag in 2hrs...all from my stash...my daughter loves it and uses it everyday..and now her friends want them!!!
I made these two pillowslip dresses for my friends two year old twin daughters, one with purple ric rac trim the other in pink. Made from 100% cotton reclaimed vintage sheeting. The blue polka dot trim dress is for their big sister, who is four. These are such easy dresses to make, can be worn layered on cooler days
Here is the latest book I am reading its called "Nouveau poor or how to live better on less." It was written in 1976 by two English women Barbara Griggs and Shirley Lowe. Its full of great Nouveau Poor style............... "We've discovered that even if life can't be as materially easy as it was a few years ago, ago it can be every bit as enjoyable. All you need is style.....Nouveau Poor Style!!!" The book was written over 30years ago, who would have thought that things would turn full circle, with the price of petrol , groceries, cost of living and interest rates increasing the way they have. Even though it doesnt have a chapter titled "Sell your things on Oztion or Ebay" it does have some very useful information on surviving these crazy times, by reducing our costs and still being comfortable. It was a 20c op shop find.
